The Opel case

Tom Waits is planning legal steps against German car manufacturor Opel, because of a television commercial that uses a voice imitator. ,,Commercials are an unnatural use of my work … it’s like having a cow’s udder sewn to the side of my face. Painful and humiliating'', is Waits' reaction in Filter Magazine.

This case looks to be very similar to the 1992 Frito-Lay case, in which Waits was rewarded 2.6 million dollar in damages.
