Bourla sold out

The Antwerp concert is sold out. And I'm looking for tickets. If you have any to spare, mail me. I can offer you 2 London tix (23/11 - row 7) or 2 Berlin tix (15/11 - row 4).

Vier uur aan een stuk twee telefoons tegen m'n oren gedrukt gehad. Constant die bezettoon. ARgl! Driewerf argl!
Weet niet eens of ik wel ooit in Amsterdam geraak...

een zieke Tom

On the Studio Brussel web site they claim that 52000 calls were registered every 15 minutes. It would be quite interesting to know how many tickets were really for sale (and how many went to press, VIP's, people who work at the bourla etc.).

I drove to Belgium because this damn phone number was not available from my german phone or handy.
This is drivin me mad, tried for 2 hours but no success.
Then a computer voice told me that it is sold out. This kind of selling tickets seems very strange to me !

Lack of dates, lack of place... three hours on the phone... 8.55-12.30... if you have any ticket left for one sorrowfull with bad luck... mail me too : Kitchee-kitchee@caramail.com
I am not as angry as some, I expected it, but it is true that I am 24, and I'll be 37 by the time Waits will come back to Belgium...

Frustrated.

It's a shame, I wasted the whole morning trying to get through. I suppose there is no fair way when your only gonna play to what...less than 15000 seats on a tour that could easily sell 150000.

I'll just have to get some heavy war dialling going on for the amsterdam shows.
Are they also just by phone or are there personal or online sales available?

Do you 've got any tickets, mail me and make me happy. ededeboer@hotmail.com

Are you a The last thief of the Theater???

FYI: I am pretty sure the number of tickets for record companies, VIP's etcetera was very limited.

Watch eBay from tomorrow on, all at once there'll be plenty of Waits tickets for sale for the Antwerp show ... at TEN times the price. A SHAME, this (phone)way of selling tickets.

I started to call at 9 am with 2 cell phones and my land line and i got them at 11:40. I got 2 tickets in the balcony. The woman told me at that time that they still had 10 tickets at 99 euros.

Could each who has got tickets shut up about it? It hurts the other ones. Thanks. I feel like a preacher waving a gun around. I hope The eyebell kid will close this blog after the launch of Real Gone... Eyeball kid? Will you?

The Eyeball Kid said...

I don't know when I will close this blog. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next year, maybe never. I don't see why I should pack it in after the release of the album.

no Way Wiol, its good to know that at least some of the people who hang out in places like this got tickets and not just the mercenary wankers who sell their slimy souls on ebay.

I agree. I was very upset when couldnt get tickets and all were immediately on e-bay, but I am happy for those real fans, who managed to get to any of the shows! Go and enjoy yourselves! I might get to the Berlin gig myself. After all, if there is no other way to get tickets but with all these rip-off business, you have to decide how important it is to yourself; be a victim and strop or just give in and go along the best way that suits yourself.

Why have no tickets been osted on eBay yet? Are there any ticket agencies offering over priced tickets?

There are none for Antwerp (yet) but there are loads for London and Berlin.
On this one the high bidder for a pair of good seats at £525(nearly 900) looks like a professional ticket tout so I'd be expecting them to go for a lot more :(

I don't think that even if I could afford it I'd pay those scum to go. I don't want to get into a huge rant about all this but to cut a long rant short:

blah blah... scumbag promoters ...blah blah rant rant... media types and celebs who wouldn't know real music from brittany spears ...blah blah rant rant...
...we should all fileshare recorded music so then artists would have to get out on the road to make serious money.
(end rant)

I was lucky enough to see Tom play twice in Dublin and once in London in the Eighties and they were great shows, the first one in the Olympia in particular was something I'll never forget. Yea it's a pain that he isn't arsed to gig more than a few times a decade. In fairness I suppose he has a family life and just doesn't want to do what Dylan, Morrison, Young etc. do and head out on the never ending tour. That might change in time. But if it was a choice between him touring regularly and him turning out albums like Blood Money and Alice at this stage of his career I'll take the albums thanks (only this time I mightn't pay for them :-).

Oh Sorry the link to the ebay tickets in London is

And there are lots more

6 phones - continuous redial - and 4 main seat tickets are in - it took us 24 manhours ( thank you all ) - but he's worth every minute of it - you have to get organised to see genius at work-

I have no hopes of getting a ticket... and will be away for many of the dates... but I did ponder about one thing and was wondering about your 'take' on things:

The new album is already available on emule. I would have no qualms about downloading it as I am surely going to buy it as soon as it's out, but how would all of you possibly more-hard-core-then-me Waits' fans feel about listening to his album ahead of the official release date, if it meant downloading a possibly inferior version from emule/kazaa?

Strangely, I see no tickets being sold on e-bay for the Belgium gig. Maybe those ticket buyers were all genuine.

Anonymous said...

Didn't they take rather extreme anti-scalping measures to avoid it? You could only buy from within Belgium and I don't think the tickets are transferable (e.g., the person who buys them MUST be at the concert). And you could only buy two.

If anybody would have an extra ticket, you can allways contact me on astrid.vanrie@advalvas.be. Thanks!
