Great site Eyeball. I'm going to be at Vancouver Oct 15th, and I find myself with an extra ticket (I un-invited my date, she doesn't appreciate the genius of the artist. Would have been a terrible waste). I'm looking for a hardcore Waits fan to make happy. Reply to vze3yc5z@verizon.net. I'll be happy to sit next to the person who makes the best case for deserving this gift.
Just wanted to mention that Real Gone is on second place in the norwegian charts. I have read somewere that his only first place came from the norwegian charts with Mule Variations. This time R.E.M took the nr. 1 spot. Damn shame.
In Finland Real Gone is at number 23 in the first week, three other new releases went higher than that. As far as I know, the album has not been reviewed in the major newspapers. My guess is that it won't make it to top 40 next week.
After reading this Sunday's paper (Helsingin Sanomat) I must take back my words: A full page about Tom Waits, including articles about Tom being in the peak of his magnificent career (this one based on a telephone interview), the court cases he's won over the years, a timeline of his life & career and last but not least, an extremely positive review about the new album. I think no-one could expect more support from the biggest newspaper in the Nordic countries...
