The Wire theme song

According to the New Yorker, Steve Earle is recording a version of Way Down In The Hole, which is to be used as the new theme song of HBO's hit series The wire. The first two seasons Tom Waits' own version was used, season three it was the Blind Boys of Alabama's version and in season four, that of DoMaJe.

Thanks to everyone who left a comment a more correct listing (or so I hope) of versions of this song used as a theme to The wire:
season 1: The Blind Boys of Alabama
season 2: Tom Waits
Season 3: The Neville Brothers
Season 4: DoMaJe

And Earle's song "Feel Alright [sic]" was the theme for the closer of the second season. He also plays a drug addict's sponsor on the show.

Not that this is a Steve Earle blog or anything, but it's a good show!
