In an interview with Cortland Ticket, guitarist Duke Robillard talks briefly about his collaboration with Tom Waits:

Ticket: You toured with Tom Waits last year. How did that come about?

Robillard: He was looking for a blues guitarist, so they called my agency and got my name to consider. Then he looked up my material and said, ‘We don't have to look any further. I don't know if I'll be working with him again, but it was a great experience and a lot of fun. He's a really nice guy, with a great sense of humor, of course, which you can tell by his music.
