Bridge School Benefit

Yesterday, Tom Waits performed with the Kronos Quartet at the first of two Bridge School Benefit shows.

The set list:

  • Way down in the hole
  • Cold, cold ground
  • Little drop of poison
  • The part you throw away
  • God’s away on business
  • The day after tomorrow
  • What keeps mankind alive
  • (a story about the guy in a speakeasy who’s only job is to swallow the dice in the event of a raid)
  • Diamond in your mind


  • James Hetfield (Metallica) introduced Tom Waits
    Larry Taylor joined the band for some songs

    The line-up as it was announced:

  • Jerry Lee Lewis
  • Tom Waits with Kronos Quartet
  • John Mayer
  • My Morning Jacket
  • Tegan & Sara
  • Regina Spektor

  • Shows on Saturday, October 27th (5 p.m.) and Sunday, October 28th (2 p.m.) at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountainview, Ca.

    Proceeds from the concert help fund the Bridge School, a Hillsborough school for children with severe speech and physical impairments.
