Several people want to meet up before and after the shows. I would be happy to put up a page with the watering holes where these parties can take place. I will probably follow the suggestions of the people on the Yahoo TW Group or Raindogs Listserv, but those of you who are not a member of those mailing lists can mail me their suggestions.
You might also want to check out the Tom Waits Fan Forums or the brand new Glitter and Doom Forum to get ideas or meet soul mates.
Once there is more or less a consensus, I would gladly put all relevant info on line. My idea is to build a simple webpage (address, hour, link), not a database that several people can access, so if that is not good enough, you might want to look for someone else to do this.

If you're seeing Tom in Columbus, you can't skip Comfest, the city's annual local music festival at Goodale Park. It's also a big reunion for wayfaring Columbusites.
The park isn't far north of the Ohio Theatre and there's no price for admission. After paying $85 a pop to see Mr. Waits, those of you going to Columbus deserve a freebie.
I recommend the Off Ramp Stage.
I mentioned this in the Got Tix comments and second what Bad Town says.
Great show, good beers, good vibe, relaxing and free. One of the better things that happens in Columbus all year.
I haven't missed it since the nineties. Its Friday through Sunday evening and definitely worth all efforts.
It's a street fair type of thing. Hardly like anything in a larger city, but for Columbus it's all that there is. (I just moved from there after living there for 23 years--frankly, I was glad that I moved!). Tom's visit to Columbus will be the hippest thing that has happened to that city in a century!
Off Ramp is the best stage at Comfest, though with so many people, it may be difficult to determine which people are out-of-town Waitsians and which people are regular Comfesters. Perhaps a time and a specific spot near the stage could be determined? Does someone want to dress up like a hooker from Minneapolis? Perhaps we can all wear forms of glitter or doom... Could get a little interesting.
Eyeball Kid ... definitely post whatever you see fit re meetings, etc. ... it would be greatly appreciated ... and I agree, just a list rather than a database makes sense here ...
As far as pre-Columbus drinking establishments, what works close to the Ohio Theater? I don't usually venture past the Short North. Maybe Char Bar? I dunno ...
do you think there will be any mysterious post-gig waits appearances at bars? I heard he does that a lot... almost after every show?
maybe something to consider.
The Elevator Brewery High and Spring streets might be good meet-up spot. It's at most a 10-minute walk to the theatre, and they've got good grub to go with their lineup of beers.
Before the El Paso show I will be found in the Dome Bar at the "Camino Real El Paso". I'll be the long blonde haired guy, with a beautiful redheaded lady and a glass of scotch in front of me. Refill that glass (single malt please) and you will have a friend for life, or the night, whichever ends first.
I love the simple website idea! Looking forward to knocking back some drinks with some of you in Phoenix on the 17th!
Anyone going 2 the JAX gig? I'm from South Beach. need a local 2 tell me where 2 have a couple o' brews pre & post show.thnx
Columbus-- Flatiron Cafe, 129 E. Nationwide Blvd 43215. They've always had TW on the juke, and they have great food. Start at the Comfest and walk south toward the Ohio Theater- the Flat is on your way-- I've attached a map, and the Flatiron is about in the middle, at Nationwide and Fourth.

And after the show, head directly to the Hey Hey. If it's still open. Sauerkraut balls in the front, open-mic improv in the rear. About 1.5 miles from the theater. 361 E Whittier St 45206
