What's 'cool' got to do with it? Neither Tricky nor Waits sail on the winds of fashion - thank god. It's no surprise to me that there' mutual admiration here, either. I can just imagine Maxinquaye blasting out of Waits's car, not to mention Tricky playing Bone Machine to his Bristolian posse.
Think those plans must be in his head - there is absolutely nothing in that article that confirms that Waits has agreed or that a collaboration is in fact going ahead. Massive Attack were dropping Waits' name a few years back and talking of working together. Nothing came of that.
Waits invites Tricky to "chill out" with him and now Tricky "plans to record an album with Tom Waits". Need more to go on than that.
