Your favourite setlist

I've added a poll to the right-hand column to find out what your favourite setlist of the US leg of the current tour is. Not your favourite performance, just the preferred collection of songs. Links to all the setlists can be found over at my G&D page, or by looking at the 'live performances' tags on the blog.

and 'resultaten weergeven' is Dutch for 'show the results'...

It's interesting that every show has at least one vote except Phoenix night 2. What that says to me is that, not surprisingly, a lot of people are voting for the show they were at. Since most attendants of one Phoenix show attended the other too though, they can choose between them (at unanimously prefer night 1).

I think Phoenix 1 was better for 2 reasons:

1.Christmas Card from a Hooker
2.Invitation to the Blues

This is the only night he did both of those classics.

Not to mention: 4 Raid Dogs songs and 2 Franks Wild Years songs...

Half the crowd was from California. I think Tom wanted some Californians, but only the hardcore, thus, the 2 night stand.

First date in Milan, yesterday. I was there and shared such a wonderful show with REM and Roberto Benigni, among others. Great set (with You can Never Hold Back Spring dedicated to Roberto Benigni and a wonderful version of Tom Traubert's Blues). I told my wife that I want hear this song as the last thing I will do in my life.

I don't know how to feel about this tour. The two shows I attended (El Paso and Phoenix 2) are hands down the weakest set lists compared with all of the other shows, but they're still among the best shows I've ever been to. I'm furious but grateful that I was able to see Tom .

b-zen mentions the first night in Phoenix. I really wanted to go to that show, but saw the St. Louis show as phoenix sold ou so quickly.
The fact that many Californians were in the audience doesn't surprise me, and I would hope that Tom gives his native state's fans some concerts sometime in the near future: I'll be there! Regarding the setlists: I would agree that playing the older tunes would please many in any audience who are probably over the age of fifty. Obviously Waits isn't adverse to playing some of the songs from the early stages of his career. By the way, is "Shoot the Moon" a new song of his?

no "I'll shoot the moon" is from the album "the black rider"come see him in dublin!
