Bloody terrible, as all Rolling Stone lists, and not only because Waits is not higher up (who cares), but because it shows that these lists are put together by 60-y-old people who have listened to the same music for the last 40 ys.
RS stopped listing guitar players by rank and should probably do it fer vocalists as well. Any list like this is very subjective. With that said Hubbard has a point that this list should be titled "100 greatest rock, blues, and country singers of the last 50yrs"

Dave Van Ronk should be on that list.
And to think that each of the greatest singers of ALL TIME lived and sang in the last 50 years? What a wonderful time to be alive, eh?

I agree with Alex. Dave Van Ronk's version of "Both Sides Now" is one of the most moving performances I've ever heard (in my almost 60 years)
