I don't think these are clips. I think these are the whole songs. The first two have been, anyway, and How's It Gonna End just started at the beginning. Wild, wild stuff!

I'd be VERY surprised, though, if Sins of the Father is our man. Most likely VH1 screwed up.

No, no, "Sins of the Father" is definitely ol' gravel voice, listed on the sleeve and everything. Though I ain't sure if VH1 has the right track posted as I have not checked.

On another note: is there the slightest, wincey, teeny possibility that Mr. Waits could tour the US with his label mate Mr. Cave? Both have albums dropping at approximately the same time and share some of the same fan base (though I have not seen too terribly many Waits fans in black eyeliner) Saw Billy Joe Shaver tour with Kinky Friedman (forgive the Rolling Blunder incident in New Orleans and give the man a day in court, people!) couple of years back and they would toss a coin to decide who played first. The likelihood of this coming to pass is slim to none in the case of these two artists and I have NO information regarding this thought. But...wouldn't it be nice?

Yeah, that's what I meant, Billy. I know the song exists, but whatever stream they're feeding us ain't Tom.

Henk, I bookmarked this site a couple days ago, and this (already) makes it totally worth it. Thanks a bunch for all you do!

The track 'Sins of my father' is definitely not the same track as the one circulating on promo copies.

heh.....that is also DEFINITELY not "Make it Rain."

I stands corrected, fellas. Next time I'll look before I start typing away.
Speaking of VH1, Anyone heard the uncut "Storytellers" session from back in the Mule Variations days? Some priceless bits got chopped, not the least of which was Mr. Waits' explanation and invocation of recording outside (see "Chocolate Jesus")

Sorry to monopolize the comments page, but they've (sort of) fixed "Make it Rain." They'd put something else there, then played MiR and DAT as 14 and 15. Now, though, both tracks 13 AND 14 are "Make it Rain." Hopefully, if we keep waiting, they'll fix it all, and we can finally hear "Clang Boom" and "Sins of the Father."

I've listened to a bit, and so far Hoist That Rag is my fave. Great freakin' tune, Mr. Waits! Okay - I'm gonna go listen some more...

prefer the "grand weepers" to the "grim reapers" - so far Sins of the Father or Day After Tomorrow take it...

"Don't Go Into That Barn" captured a dead-on Howling Wolf voice/ vibe. Amazing. The lyrics on this and "Circus" are hypnotic.
