Seattle concert and 2005 U.S. tour

Tom Waits is to play his only 2004 U.S. show on October 18 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. Musicians are Larry Taylor on bass, Marc Ribot on guitar and Brain Mantia on drums/percussion.

A limited number of tickets will go on sale at midnight October 4 (simultaneously with the sale of the new album) at two Seattle Tower Record locations (5207 Fifth Avenue North and 4518 University Way), while the remainder of the tickets will be made available at the Paramount Box Office and Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. October 5. Ticket prices are $65.00, plus service charges.

Tom Waits might possibly tour the U.S. early next year.

Hi, Why did you remove the post about the 2nd Vancouver show? Was it for real ...or? Thanks in advance for any info.

The 2nd Vancouver show is officially unconfirmed.

Anyone know the reason for the US gig being so much cheaper than Euro gigs?

Dude, what about the "lack" of shows in the US. Must see Tom before I die.

fuck complaining about prices, i am really offended about this 'only 2004 u.s. show' and 'might possibly tour the u.s. early next year'. what the hell? what happened to all the hoopla about this being tom's first major tour since '99? really sucks being a new-comer to his music, seems i'll never see him perform live.

The calender combines gigs for the Paramount and the Moore Theatre. Bright Eyes - in a green font - is scheduled at the Moore.

Although I dont work for him or anything Im pretty sure he will be doing more US dates. There was info from his tour manager saying it would happen (this was a little while ago though)

whatta buncha of complainers! Be patient, I'm positive TW will tour the us after the year turns. I mean, come 'on. He's got kids to feed.

Meanwhile, spend your dough on his new disc.

Hi, I thought the album came out on the 5th? Do tickets go on sale monday morning or tuesday morning?

Anonymous said...

no, new album comes out oct. 4.

and I'm sooooo glad I live in Seattle. I'm going to show up for tickets 2 hours early. I hope the line isn't that big...who knows. does anybody have any estimates on how long the lines will be for this show?

Anonymous said...

If the demand for the London show was anything to go by I'd pack a sleeping bag if I were you

The album comes out Oct 4 (Monday) in Europe and Oct 5 (Tuesday) in the US.

Some record stores in the US stay open till midnight on Mondays so obsessed fans like us can buy new albums at 12:01 AM, as soon as they are available. That's what they're doing at this Seattle early ticketing sale.

When do time zone do Ticketmaster tickets go on sale? 10:00 eastern, central, mountain, pacific? For those of us willing to make journey across country.

I believe the ticket goes on sale 10 AM PST (or 1 PM EST).

As for the files of the Letterman show, they are posted on the Raindog FTP as well, a couple of nice high res mpgs.

After talking to the manager at the seattle tower records last evening he said there was no need to get in line early for the tickets as there would be a lottery for everyone in line at 11:30pm for the limited number of tickets available. By then there were about 500 folks in line at the 5th street store and they ended up giving tickets to the FIRST 100 people in line. TOWER SUCKS. Go buy Real Gone, it is great, just buy it somewhere else other than Tower.

I was planning on driving up from Portland to get tickets at Tower, I'm glad I didn't. I ended up getting tickets online this morning and they are damn good seats on the main floor! I can't wait.

The 2004 European tour consists of eight shows in Antwerp (1), Berlin (3), Amsterdam (3) and London (1). There have been no more shows announced so far. There have been vague rumours about more European dates in 2005, but for the moment that seems to be based more on wishful thinking than on anything else.

The Eyeball Kid said...

Tickets cost between 40 euro (cheapest seats in Antwerp) and 115 euro (most expensive seats in Berlin)

I just looked on e-bay and it is ridiculous that everything has to be reduced to a profit making scam. They are asking two, three, and even 4 times face value for tickets. I have at least two (maybe three) extra tickets for the Seattle show I'd gladly sell to a fan at face value plus the ticket master charges. I had a few friends camped out on the phones trying to get tickets and actually a few of us got through so i have extras. drop me an e-mail at pfbogart@aol.com if you really want to go and couldn't get through. I won't ship tickets (to avoid scalping later)I'll meet you in front of the Paramount and we can do the exchange there. first come....
