Tickets for the Berlin shows ranged from 68.50 to 110 euros, so I guess 80 pounds for a single UK show might well be accurate...

Stargreen.com are now listing this event at £69.95 + p&p.

Not quite eighty quid but not far off.

Ah well: credit card - brace yerself!

I am so disappointed about the price of tickets for the London Apollo - 70 pounds?! - it means I can't make the show, along with quite a few other loyal fans I would imagine. I saw Bob Dylan for £35 at the same venue fairly recently and I consider both artists to be on a par. We deserve to charged normal/affordable prices. I find it hard to believe that Tom Waits would rip off his fans to such a degree (If most of the money went to him personally I might feel differently but frankly I doubt it), so I can only assume his promoters I taking us all for a ride. I don't really know what else to say other than to express my total disappointment and bewilderment.

On a more positive note, I think the website is really fantastic, and despite the above I'm really looking forward to the new album.

I'm upset about the disrespect of the ticket price.. but worse, I'm unconsolable that I couldn't get any. Sold out within the hour and I dialled non stop since 9am.. take me away.

Some friends of mine (as well as myself) tried from 8.50 to get through to buy tickets. We used two phones each (a landline and a mobile) and couldn't get through. I have noticed that other websites (getmetickets + ebay) have tons of Waits tickets for sale (at about £600+) and that really pisses me off. I saw him a few years ago in Dublin for £15. Its not that I mind missing out on getting a ticket (well... actually I do mind a lot) its just that a lot of people seem to have bought tickets just to turn a tidy profit and not to see the man himself. Come November I shall be eaten up with bitterness and rage. You'll probably see me on the balcony of Buckingham palace dressed as the eyeball kid.
