According to the first reports, the Commodore show was better than the Orpheum performance: less (or no) technical problems and a better sound balance thanks to sufficient time for a soundcheck (which apparently wasn't the case at the Orpheum).

I was at the Orpheom, My first T.W. show, the venue was gorgeous, T.W. was great, I am headed for the Paramount in a bit, wish I saw the Commodore show, nothing against the Friday show, it is just a shame to miss it. My thanks to T.W. for flavor in a bland world. AC
I was able to make the show at the Commodore that night as well. Leaving the show around midnight, satisfied but stupified by how electric the streets in downtown Vancouver were, we spoke to a old local who mentioned Waits was going to "The Yale" blues venue afterwards to catch some local music. We were reluctant to go in to the place. What should we do...stare at him. Anyway, we couldn't have made it in anyway; although the place was hoppin and full of people the door guy claimed they were closed...
