According to Foxnews.com, actrice Scarlett Johansson has signed a record deal and is recording her first album: Scarlett sings Tom Waits.The record might be released somewhere next spring by Rhino Records' recently reactivated Atco label.

If she has the wispy voice claimed by Fox News, it could be a really interesting album.
Hm, the most beautiful woman in hollywood singing tom waits? Thats worth checking out. She has more class than the likes of jenifer lopez or those simspon girls. This could definately work.
Im of the opinion that this wont be worth a nickel. Scarlett is looking everyways at the moment and everywhere with little talent. She has the promise of some charm but delivered rather awkwardly. Are we suppose to believe she knows what she is doing.
Have a listen to her version of Gershwin's "Summertime". It appeared on an album called "Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars" (to these ears she sounds like the British jazz singer Stacy Kent).
