I've been trying to follow what has been confirmed and/or listed about ticket sales on various sites. Although the initial press release seemed to indicate all ticket sales were to be handled by Ticketmaster, it looks as if some other outlets might be involved: Gettix (Tulsa), Metrotix (St Louis) and Concertwire (probably Knoxville, Mobile, Birmingham and Atlanta). Please note this might still change.

Knoxville is not a Ticketmaster outlet. It's serviced by KnoxvilleTickets.com.
Here's a suggestion for something that can be added to the Eyeball Kid's Glitter and Doom coverage: maybe we should have a sort of message board so that readers may have conversations about various elements of the tour, i.e. scheduling meet-ups, hotel and restaurant suggestions from locals, general banter, whimsical ponderings of possible setlists, etc etc. It's an idea. :]
fyi- Dallas tickets will be $86. I definitely agree with joshua cohen as to the message board idea...

in Dallas tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster- same rules apply- only via Internet or by phone and only 2 tickets per person. I can't find anything about presale- if anyone finds out anything, please post!
What do you all think of the sites selling tix already? (high prices, closer rows). Will those tix not be accepted at the front door w/the policies in place?
Good god! Metrotix puts a $15 service charge on each ticket for the St. Louis show? Ouch says my wallet...ouch.
Knoxvilletickets.com doesn't have the Waits show listed yet. Hopefully closer to the on sale date.
I'm sorry this isn't exactly on topic, but I'm looking for a good site/source for tom waits setlists. My primary motivation is that if I know there's a good, up-to-date source out there, I can relax and enjoy the show without the distraction of keeping my own list! I sniffed around here and at the tom waits library site. any ideas? much appreciated!
Occula: during the last tour, this site kept extremely up-to-date and accurate setlists submitted by people who went to the show.

ugh! I was for once in my life looking forward to a "hook-up" for tickets as I have followed him around the globe for the past few years. I thought I might not have to wait in a virtual line for Knoxville tickets this time, but it doesnt seem like that's going to happen...
I wouldn't trust any ticket being sold before this Friday. Can you imagine getting to the venue on the night of the show and them NOT taking your ticket? Talk about a nightmare.

that happened to me on the last tour. something went awry with the whole anti-scalping thing, my wife got her ticket early & when i went to pick up mine, they said it had been nixxed. happy ending: we talked with the folks at the gate & my wife (who like tom but doesn't adore him like i do) gave me her ticket. wouldn't risk that again for anything.
Aaron, prepare to be gauged - I'd take an estimated guess of between $15 and $20 in total.
My experience has been that the service fees with Tickets Unlimited (a.k.a., Knoxvilletickets.com) are far less (7-10 dollars) than Ticketmaster
(usually around 15-20).
I am the only one seriously bothered by an $85 dollar ticket (call it $100 after ticketmaster fees)?? That's not in the least respectful or appreciative of one's fans. (This coming from a guy who has travelled 500 miles and 1,200 miles for Tom Waits shows.)
I agree about the high ticket prices. Two years ago, he had not toured in many years and I was willing to go just about anywhere to see him. Now, I am not willing to go to these un-roadtrip-worthy locations and pay high ticket prices. I am also not thrilled that his son is still the drummer in the band (he is adequate at best, and seems to lack energy). I've been a fan for over 30 years and have seen him live 3 times, and this year will unfortunately not be the fourth.
