In case anyone's at all interested, I'm one of the very lucky newspaper reviewers who got to see Tom in Edinburgh on night one.

My take on the show is still online at the paper's website.

If the review doesn't make it clear, I'm a big Waits enthusiast. The purpose of any professional review is to give an unbiased, objective account of the event - so, from that perspective, this was the hardest review of my life.

This was a difficult call. I plumped for the final night in Dublin as I wasn't there and the setlist contained some of the songs I would have loved to have heard. However I was incredibly fortunate to get to the first Dublin show as well as a show each in Edinburgh and Paris.

For me these were better than the 2004 shows I saw. They had more vitality, even though I thought those shows would never be bettered.

My bank balance is bruised, my liver is a little less efficient and I'm left wondering when or if I'll ever see any live music again as good as I saw this summer.

Here's looking forward to a new album soon and another European tour before Mr Waits decides to bow out.

...and a big thank you to Eyeball Kid for being such a priceless source of information.

gummi, (Norwegian?) I have very poor recordings from parts of the 2nd Dublin concerto. Maybe you have some better?
I was seated at Block A row H. I noticed a couple of geeks behind me with more professional recording equipment.

thx for the info Sigge, i´m icelandic, well i´ve heard some recordings from the 2nd show, but i´d really like to hear some recordings from the 3rd show in dublin... Green Grass is one of my all time favorites and i´ve never heard a live version of it from mr. Waits
