Stalking Tom Waits

Those of you who were lucky enough to see a show during the previous tour, might have run into Raymy at one of the European venues. Raymy is a Scottish musician and Tom Waits devotee who followed the 2004 Real Gone tour all over Europe. He has now published Stalking Tom Waits, an account of of his experiences during this odyssee, where he inadvertently found himself among the Waits entourage.

Outside of Scotland, it is currently only available on eBay - approx £3.50/5 Euros/$10 (although I can't find it now UPDATE: the link is back up). Alternatively, email Raymy at raymy-music@hotmail.co.uk.

Proceeds from the sale of the book - a limited edition publication - will partly finance Raymy's Glitter & Doom odyssey, starting in San Sebastian on July 12.

I think stalking the man or otherwise being a Tom Waits "Fanboy" is very un-Waitsian. Tom is only a musician, not the second coming.

Actually, stalking or not, I find this picture very annoying. There is something in it that irritates me - am I alone?.. Something aggressive, intrusive, really like this guy is stalking *me*... I don't think I want to see this guy, let alone buy his book, to fund his tour this year "among the Waits entourage".

Can't wait to see the song list from the P performance tonight...

I've just finished reading this 'book' (less than 40 photocopied pages). It's actually quite enjoyable and Raymy's far from being a stalker. You can read my thoughts on it here: Carnival Saloon: Stalking Tom Waits. You're right though - few things are as annoying as seeing Tom Waits fans trying to look like their hero
