Tom Waits and Larry Taylor will be performing a few songs at a benefit show in Los Angeles on Friday, May 12th. The show benefits the Music Cares / MAP fund and is honoring James Hetfield and concert promoter Bill Silva. The show takes place at the Music Box (formerly the Henry Fonda Theatre) on Hollywood Boulevard.
The floor is sold out, but some balcony seats are available at $250 US. Also performing is Alice In Chains' Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney with Metallica's James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo; Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Jason Mraz. Others are expected to be added.

Great show! Tom and Larry performed four songs, Tango till they're sore, Invitation to the Blues, Lucky Day and You can never hold back spring. Along with some hilariuos monologue. Unfortunately Tom was the only one I didn't have a chance to meet. Maybe next time.
Waits congratulated Hetfield, saying "getting sober's not for sissies."

His story about sobriety being the "million dollar program" and that they give it to you a nickel at a time up your ass, was priceless.
