Feeding America’s National Campaign soundtrack

The national public service advertising campaign launched by the Advertising Council and Feeding America to raise awareness of the issue of hunger in America uses the Waits song Never let go of your hand as its soundtrack.

“We all need to be reminded that the folks who need help getting back on their feet are all members of our family”, Tom Waits explains his involvement on the ANTI blog.

Opel Law suit settled

According to the New York Times, Tom Waits has settled his lawsuit against the carmaker Adam Opel AG and a German advertising agency over television commercials that he says mimicked his vocal style without his permission. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

UPDATE: Yahoo News mentions Mr. Waits will donate the proceeds from this law suit to charity. The AP news wire also has a quote from a statement issued by Waits: ,,I'm glad to be out of the car sales business once and for all''.

Tom Waits wins Spanish legal judgement

Several news sources, such as Antinews, announce Tom Waits has won the opening stages of a legal battle against a Spanish production company that adapted his music and impersonated his voice for a television commercial. Despite Waits’ refusal to allow his original version of the song, a reworked Innocent When You Dream was used for the advertisement.
