The Eyeball Kid News on Facebook
I've created a brand new page on Facebook, where all my Tom Waits news will be posted as well: facebook.com/eyeballkidnews
Look out for some extra stuff over there as well, like today's poll: what do you think about Bad as me?

The Eyeball Kid Gazette
I'm always looking for ways to spread the Gospel, so now you can get your daily shot of Waits news in The Eyeball Kid Gazette too. It's a fully automated product made with paper.li, so I have hardly any control over it, but I think it is worth a try.

Mail and Twitter problems
There's a problem with updates through mail and Twitter. I hope to solve this as soon as possible. I think it has something to do with Feedburner, but I have no idea what the actual problem is, so it might take a while.

Tweets
You might have noticed something new in the right-hand column: "Tweets about Tom Waits". It's just an automatic stream based on the result of looking for "Tom Waits" on search.twitter.com. Nothing more, nothing less.

Thank you
As the dust is settling down after the Glitter and Doom tour, I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the blog this during the last few weeks. News, set lists, rumours, best wishes, kind words, pints of Guinness, post cards,... everything is greatly appreciated. I've tried to answer your mails, but I realise I've failed miserably - I hope you'll forgive me. And remember: The Eyeball Kid would not be what it is wihout your help. So, please do keep the info coming.
I do have to warn you not to expect any more updates in August, due to a holiday.

Email updates
I managed to install an automated email update service with news from The Eyeball Kid.
Enter your email address below and then activate your subscription in a confirmation mail. You should then receive an email on days the blog is updated. If the blog is not updated, you should not receive any messages.
I will not use your address for anything else, but as I have no experience with this feedburner.com, service, I can not vouch for their end of the matter. So, if you subscribe, you do so at your own risk. I hope you understand.

A lot of my readers ask me if there is some sort of email alert with news from the Eyeball Kid. Well, there isn't. But to spread the good word, I've now tried to install a Twitter account with an automatic RSS-feed from the blog.
So, if everything works out fine, you should be able to follow the news at twitter.com/eyeballkidnews. And for all you news junkies out there, the good news is you can get Twitter updates on your mobile phone as well.

What you want: the results
A while back I asked what kind of posts you wanted. The results are pretty clear: a clear majority (67%) of the 439 people who voted preferred "the news as it is now presented". About a quarter of you (23%) wanted more, even if it has only a remote Waits-connection whilst a mere 8% wanted me to limit the messages to "hardcore TW news". So, I guess I'll carry on just like I'm used to.
Thanks for playing.

What would you like?
Interactivity, all the hip kids are into it, and so am I! So, to find out some more about the readers of The Eyeball Kid, I might bother you with the occasional poll from now on.
The first one is about what you would like to read over here. Do you want only hardcore Waits news, like the official annoucenments of live shows and recordings. Needless to say this might seriously limit the number of news posts. Or do you fancy anything remotely connected to the world of Waits in its broadest possible sense? This might mean more arty-farty video's from second-rate Youtube rip-offs and more unconfirmed rumours about movie stars covering songs by musicians who were influenced by Casey Waits' drum teacher. Or are you perfectly happy with how things are now?
You have one week to cast your vote in the right-hand column. And do feel free to explain your vote in the comments.
Oh yeah: the results are non-binding. Meaning I will probably do however I see fit, whatever the outcome.

The Boulevard of Broken Covers - November 07
I've decided to try and structure the news about Waits covers a bit. So, from now on, you should find a round-up of all new covers I'm aware of every last day of the month. Should you find any covers yourself, you are more than welcome to let me know.
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss cover Trampled rose on their album Raising sand
Guy Davis covers Midnight lullaby on Down at the sea hotel (by various artists)
Note: seeing as the name Coverville has already been taken, I've decided to call this The Boulevard of Broken Covers.
